What is reference?
Reference is a service librarians provide in which they help you find information and research - whether it's a book, article, tax form, citation, or long-lost relative.
Dedham Public Library has two full time reference librarians and a full time children's librarian. All are available for in-person, email, or telephone reference.

The state of Massachusetts also provides free, online, 24-hour reference service. You can use this service through the Boston Public Library:
